Philip Dekker is a senior commercial lawyer with over 15 years of in-house experience, including senior roles at global technology companies across the UK, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
He trained at Freshfields before moving in-house, where he spent his career advising on commercial scale, digital regulation and product risk at board level. He is now building a dedicated AI governance advisory practice, working with technology companies and their leadership teams on the commercial and legal implications of deploying AI: from vendor exposure and contract risk to the governance frameworks that determine whether AI initiatives create value or liability.
Profiles in Legal grew directly out of this work. The briefing was created for senior in-house lawyers and GCs who are increasingly asked to advise on AI-related decisions before the facts, the law and the market have settled. It is written from the inside, by someone who has been in those rooms, fielded those questions and knows which ones actually matter.
Philip is UK-qualified (England & Wales) and based in the UK. Philip can be contacted below, via LinkedIn or by reply to Profiles in Legal.
